signature event
The highlight of the entire Carnival — a free, spectacular street parade through the heart of Toowoomba every opening Saturday.
The iconic Grand Central Floral Parade is one of Toowoomba's most anticipated events each year. It features over 30 floral floats decorated by community groups and businesses — all following the 2026 theme of "Spring Adventures." Street performers, marching bands, carnival characters and dance troupes escort the floats through the city streets to Queens Park.
The parade begins at 10am and is expected to finish at Godsall Street Oval by 11:30am. It's completely free to attend — just pick a spot along the route before the crowds arrive.
Parade Route
Corner of Herries & Hume Street → along Herries Street → right into Ruthven Street → right into Margaret Street → left onto Hume Street → finishing at Godsall Street Oval
⏰Arrive early. The best spots along Herries St, Ruthven St, Margaret St and Godsall St Oval fill quickly. Once the parade starts you cannot change positions.
🚗Road closures from 5am to approx. 2pm. Park at Grand Central, Water Street, Julia Street, or Central car parks and walk to the route. Allow extra travel time.
☀️What to bring: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and a fold-up chair if you'd like a seat during the event.
♿Accessibility: A dedicated mobility viewing zone is located in the central car parks on Ruthven Street, opposite the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery.
🐶Pets welcome on a leash, though the parade can be loud — consider your pet's temperament before bringing them along.
📱Can't make it in person? The parade will be livestreamed on the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Facebook page.
free blooms to exclusive events
The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2026 offers a mix of free and ticketed experiences, making it accessible for all visitors.
Many of the festival’s highlights — including public garden displays, park precincts, street atmosphere and community events — are free to enjoy throughout the event period, which runs from 18 September to 5 October 2026.
Ticketed experiences vary depending on the event, with prices generally starting from around $20 for adult entry to select events such as FEASTival early release tickets, with concession and youth pricing available for eligible attendees.
Other specialty experiences, such as garden tours, exclusive dining events, rides, and premium experiences, can range from low-cost entry options through to higher-end hospitality packages, depending on inclusions and demand.
Most ticketed events sell out quickly, particularly across peak weekends, so early booking is strongly recommended once the official program is released.
Visitors are encouraged to combine free garden visits with a selection of ticketed signature events to experience the full variety of the Carnival.
